This past weekend was really busy. We took Roark for his first hike and we paid a visit to the Alpaca Denver Show. If you are regular reader of this blog, then you may have learned by now that I have varied interests. For many years now, I have developed an obsession with Alpacas. I don’t know how it all came about, but I remember becoming so obsessed with them that I started trying to persuade my husband that we needed to have an Alpaca farm. I dragged into every Alpaca farm I could access, bought Alpaca fur products and even got my father in law, who is a farmer, to help me to convince my husband.
As tough a nut as he is to crack, I almost convinced him to do it. Specially when we were moving to Colorado and we had the opportunity to find a house in the country. The only problem was that land around here is extremely pricey and we love to travel, which meant that his commute to work would be long (completely unfair) and we would need to give travel up if we had a farm, because unlike a regular job, a farm is a 24/7 job, so I had to give up my obsession with having an Alpaca farm for now, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t jump at every opportunity to go see these beautiful animals and get a cuddle if I can.
So when I saw that the Alpaca Denver Show was happening this weekend, I was filled with glee. My husband, who knows me too well, didn’t even need convincing. He completely assumed that is what we were doing anyway. I tell you, I am a lucky girl!
I didn’t take many pictures, but I captured it on video for you. Here is the vlog!
