7 Tips for First Time Visitors to the Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark
The Great Wolf Lodge’s main attraction is its indoor waterpark. It caters to all ages from babies to adults with well defined sections and rides.
If you are planning a visit to Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark, here are some tips for first time visitors:
[ 1 ] Bring your own towels. If you are staying at the hotel, towels are provided to you. If you have a day pass, you can rent or buy towels to be used at the pool. Showers and dressing rooms are available on location.
[ 2 ] Rent a locker. Lockers are available for rent in various sizes from small ($15) to jumbo size ($22).
The jumbo size locker accommodates a large backpack or pool bag, so make sure to consolidate your belongings and leave non-valuables (bulky clothing and footwear) in the car.
I recommend renting a locker for your valuables and if you plan on enjoying the slides and pools as a family.
You can use the kiosks near the lockers to rent it or do it at the entrance to the waterpark.
[ 3 ] Don’t bring food. Outside food and drinks are not permitted at the park, so make sure to bring money for food and drinks. You can purchase a refillable drink cup for $9.99 – a great bargain if you are planning to spend the day.
There are several options for food at Great Wolf Lodge from fast food to sit-down meals.
[ 4 ] Arrive early. The water park opens at 10 and by 10:15am most of the seating has already been claimed by guests. Therefore, if you need seating, arrive early.
We preferred to rent a locker and move freely around the park. Open tables are available at the restaurant for meal times.
[ 5 ] Consider renting a cabana. If you have a large family with small kids or are in a group, you might consider renting a private cabana which has plenty of seating, a TV and small table. This allows your family to arrive at any time and have a designated area to rest in between slides. This is particular beneficial if you have little ones that need a quieter space to nap.
[ 6 ] Bring flotation devices for little ones. However, if you are traveling from out of state or forget to bring it, there are life vests available on site.
[ 7 ] Have fun! The Great Wolf Lodge is fun for the whole family, so go ahead and have some adult fun too. I tried several of the big slides and convinced my husband to do it too!
