At the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, every detail is geared towards luxury.
Not many people get to travel to Saudi Arabia, so when my husband told me he was going on a business trip and was going to stay at the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh, I asked him to take tons of pictures so I can live vicariously through him and of course to share it with you what a luxury hotel looks like in the Middle East.

What is it Like to Stay at the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia?
The hotel is located in a compound of 52 acres and has 492 rooms, 3 restaurants, a cigar lounge, a tea room, a garden, a bowling area, spectacular swimming pool and spa, a kids club (Ritz Kids) and all the amenities a 5-star hotel is expected to have. There is also a club level open 24hrs a day for guests that meet certain criteria.
There is an array of fountains and palm trees lining the entrance of the hotel and the amount of craftsmanship of the entire building is breathtaking.
The Lobby and Common Areas
The lobby, as you enter the hotel, is luxurious and opulent. The granite floors and magnificent mosaic ceilings are ornate. It sets the tone for a great stay. The gold details throughout and bronze horse statues on pedestals make a grand statement that you have arrived at the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh.
Several lounging areas are available throughout the complex to have a conversation or wait for companions. There are mirrors throughout the building decorated with intricate etchings and more gold details.
Pool and Spa
The pool and spa are gentlemen only – it is Saudi Arabia after all. In the dressing rooms, slippers, swimming trunks and towels are available for each guest.
The spa offers a variety of services from facials to a more comprehensive pampering package.
If you work out when traveling, the Ritz Carlton has you covered with a full gym, towel service, water and snacks.
Of all the videos my husband shot during his stay at the Ritz Calrton of Riyadh, 80% were from the food at the restaurants. A man after my own heart!
The variety and quality of the food served is unequal. The service was exceptional.
There are so many choices, you might come home a little heavier!
Club Level Lounge
For some rooms, access to a club lounge is available. In this lounge, food selection is smaller than the buffet restaurants in the property, but service is available during longer hours. Snacks and refreshments are available between meals.
If you have any dietary restrictions, just let the staff know and they will be able to accommodate your needs.
Freshly pressed juices and ice-cream are available at any time upon request.
A bowling area and a kids club are available at the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh.
Rooms at The Ritz Carlton in Riyadh
Even the most basic rooms are spacious and luxurious. The neutral decor is combines tones of wood and granite tiles for a peaceful retreat.
The toiletries are high end and smell amazing! And if you need your laundry done while traveling, expect it to be delivered in a leather box with a nice thank you card.
Shopping at the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh
Rolex and Sweets of Arabia are the only two shops at the hotel complex, but if you fancy shopping, a driver can take you to one of the shopping areas or a concierge can arrange for items to be delivered to you.
