This list of Halloween Books for Preschool Kids is a must have for children ages 3-5 years old.
We are in full fall swing in our household and so excited for the fall activities coming our way. The house is decorated, costumes are purchased and we even took a couple trips to the mountains to enjoy the changing foliage.
For the next 3 months, you might either find me on the couch under a comfy blanket or in my kitchen baking cakes and pies and testing soups and stews.
And of course, if I am lounging on the couch, I will have a wide-eye 3 year old sitting next to me while we read his favorite fall and Halloween books.
I started homeschooling our son this year and reading seasonal books is a great way to teach him some basic preschool and even kindergarten knowledge: the seasons, social skills around celebrations, letter recognition, sounds and sight words.
Since this is the first year that he will be trick-or-treating at night I wanted to read him non-scary Halloween Books to prepare him for everything that happens during Halloween.
All those costumes, lights and decorations can be frightening for toddlers and we want to avoid creating any problems with dark rooms or nightmares.
Reading Halloween books also helps parents to introduce concepts about safety, manners and candy-eating limits way before we head out for a fun night of Trick-or-Treating.
